Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 1905 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, will hold its 144th church anniversary and Dr. Daniel Simmons’ 18th anniversary at 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. The guest speaker will be Dr. Charles Smith of Baton Rouge, La.

Oct. 17

Kinchafoonee Baptist Church will have its fall festival beginning at 10 a.m. Games, a silent auction and singing are on tap with performances by Southern Majesty, The Hood Family and Randy Culverson. A barbecue lunch will be served at noon.

Nov. 14
