Late Friday afternoon, the Albany Police Department was made aware of allegations of inappropriate conduct by an officer. An investigation was conducted and sufficient probable cause was established. And, after consulting with the District Attorney’s Office, Corporal Vincent Romone Wadley, age 46, was charged and arrested for Child Molestation.
After hearing about the allegations, Chief Proctor expressed his disappointment and stated that inappropriate conduct by any officer will not be tolerated at the Albany Police Department:
“Officer’s standards are much higher and after learning about the allegation, I immediately asked that the investigation proceed and that the appropriate charges be brought if substantiated.”
-Chief John Proctor.
Officer Wadley has been placed on suspension without pay pending the outcome of this case. Wadley has been employed with the Albany Police Department since August 20, 2004 and is assigned to the Theft Unit in the Investigations Division.
