Gabriel Powell & New Priest headlined Lamar Reese Magnet School of the Arts annual Million Word Campaign and I Care Kickoff celebration.

This recording artist group captured student’s attention while musically relating the success of the songs to the education that each member of the group has received through mastering reading and writing skills and the development of social skills.

The songs ranged from “I Love to Read”, to “Reading is better than Watching T.V” and culminating with “I Believe” and “Best Friend”. Fourth-grader NiAra Woodall teacjer Angie Kelly-Gardner were special surprise guest performers from the audience.
