Sure, why not? As long as we have an “anything goes” mindest, holding no set of ethical standards or expecatations on ourselves, go for the quick money. If we are working to drive Albany into the ground, might as well get it over with quick, and run the rest of the decent people out. They’d be happier somewhere else anyway.
Albany would never support anything like a casino, and I don’t see it being something so grand as to attract out-of-towners. Look at the Civic Center, Eames Ballpark, The RiverQuarium. All money pits. The idea sounds great, but history has shown that an endeavor like that in Albany would be a total waste.
I, along with alot of other people drive to Alabama and Biloxi to go to there casinos. So why not boost our own economy. As long as Law Enforcement can handle the problems that may arise. And the City & County government can handle any controversy on behalf of the economic status of the City of Albany, GA.
I think it is abgood idea. There’s a limited of things to do and see here in Albany. Since we are in the hub..it will direct traffic an traffic means income!
It is a GREAT way to add jobs to the area but, what kind of element will it bring? Would it be worth it and can we take a chance? It would bring in a lot of commerce if it could be as nice as Biloxi, MS. We need more information so we can make an educated decision.
I think it’s a fabulous idea. It could possibly boost tourism here.
